Jacob’s Gourmet Mushrooms is an organic mushroom farm, located right here in Denver, less than 2 miles north of the CoCo facility. Many of Jacob’s mushrooms have been available at restaurants in the Denver area since 2018. Now, all of these gorgeous mushrooms will be available for delivery, straight to your front-door!
Jacob’s Mushrooms upcycles all of their spent wood-based mushroom substrate through CoCo’s yard waste division. Not only will the ethically-sourced wood, which Jacob grows his mushrooms on, be used to provide food once, it will be used as garden compost all over the greater Denver area to yield fresh vegetables in your home gardens! Symbiotic relationships like this are kismet, crucial to pushing forward towards a better future for us all.
Jacob will be growing six varieties of gourmet mushrooms at his Denver facility. Starting out, fresh Shiitake and Blue Oyster (cluster) mushrooms will be available for order. In the near future, fresh King Oyster (king trumpet), Lion’s Mane, Pioppino (cinnamon cap), and Maitake (hen-of-the-woods) will also be available.
All mushrooms will be packaged neatly in a compostable tin-tie bag, so be sure to tear out the aluminum tie before composting the rest!
